llamas, alpacas, peacocks and so much more. Here you can spend the day enjoying

adventure is for anyone looking to escape the city and enjoy a free activity

spring has sprung the true beauty of the botanical gardens comes alive. Known
for being Virginia’s largest botanical garden with 175 acres, there is plenty
to see within the 60 themed gardens they house. Enjoy the views by strolling
through the gardens or switch it up by taking the tram or boat.

Preserve at Lake Meade
History buffs will want to make a
stop this spring to take a look into the past. This home built by Mills
Riddick, the grandson of Revolutionary War hero Col. Willis S. Riddick, was
created after a fire ravaged dozens of homes on Main Street in Suffolk. Riddick
was a captain of cavalry during the War of 1812 and served as a member of the
Virginia House of Delegates. Learn the history of Suffolk with a visit to the
museum this spring.
